The Afflicted

The Afflicted are ghosts that are infected by a specific virus. This virus affects each ghost differently. Sometimes it changes them into something horrifying and can even change the appearance of the location around the infected ghost. In some cases the person might not even be dead yet, but rather their body is in a comatose state while their infected spirit roams around.

The virus can only be extracted from the ghost by an Extractor. If the ghost is still attached to their living body when the virus is extracted then the person will live, but they will be left with 5 small puncture scars in the shape of an "x" at the extraction point.
